Legoland!

The boys are really into Legos now, so it only seemed appropriate for us to make a trip to a (fairly) newly opened Legoland park in Winter Haven, Florida!  Legoland is probably ideal for ages 4-9 so it was perfect for the boys and we had a great time.  Here are the pictures from our trip.

We were really amazed at the Lego statues all over the place.

First stop...the castle.

This was called Merlin's ride...or something along the lines of that.

As you can probably tell, Christopher was pretty excited about this one.

The next ride was the Royal Joust.  Here the boys got ride on these mechanical horses...that didn't move very fast.  For purposes of this ride though, the boys had to be 4 years old.

This next series of pictures may be evidence that the boys really like the camera.  Nathan actually asked me to take these pictures while he posed.  Christopher was off in the potty and missed out.

This next ride is one we believe was created to torture parents.  You start off in a fire truck, but two adults have to push up and down on a lever to move it, then you get to a water pump, where again, you have to pump a lever up and down to get the water out.

Meanwhile, the kids get to play with a steering wheel.

This next ride was probably the hit of the day for the boys.  They got to drive a car!  It wasn't on a track and  it was up to the boys to accelerate and steer.  At the end though, as they got more comfortable, Christopher decided it was time to start slamming into other cars.  Fortunately, the worst crash involved Christopher slamming into Nathan, rather than some other random child we didn't know.

At Legoland we enjoyed the boys first roller coaster!  They were good sports about it, but it wasn't a hit for them.  They both declared it too fast (surprisingly) and that they almost threw up.  Good thing they aren't overly dramatic...please note the sarcasm.

The next most popular ride with the boys was a safari adventure with all the animals made out of Legos.

Some of the rides required a minimum height.  The boys loved checking out their height at every sign they came across.

The boys even enjoyed the shows!

Overall, it wasn't quite Disney World, but it was slower paced since it wasn't as crowded and the boys still had a great time, so we would recommend it to anyone with young children.
