Our Summer Vacation

This summer, mom and dad took us to Kansas to visit Grandma and Grandpa and we had a great time. Below are some pictures from our trip.

In Kansas, we were told we had to earn our keep. Evidently, being just short of 22 months old wasn't an excuse. So before we could have any fun, we had to do some chores.

Christopher helped mow the yard.

Nathan helped water the plants.

Christopher also helped clean Grandpa's boat.

It obviously wasn't all work though. Once we were done with chores, we got plenty of opportunity for fun.
Grandma has something like a million cats, and unlike our cats, Grandma's cats like getting pet and hugs.

We got to write with chalk on the driveway.

We got to play in the sprinklers.

We got to check out Grandma's flowers.

We even got to go on Grandpa's boat. Grandpa and Grandma bought us life vest, so that we would float in case we fell overboard. Here are pictures of us getting ready for the trip.

Not sure why, but dad didn't let Christopher keep the bottle.

Once we got the cooler and the drinks ready, we were all set.

Once we got going, Nathan was a little tense at first, but he calmed down once he got used to the boat. Meanwhile, Christopher paced around a bit, kind of like a caged animal.

Eventually Christopher calmed down though, especially when Grandpa let him drive the boat.

We got to make a couple of trips to the zoo.

Here is Nathan checking out a Gorilla.

We had a particularly good time checking out the turtles.

We got check out mysterious caves.
The grizzly bears were also really neat.

Even when we were at home we had a great time. Grandma's friend let us borrow lots of toys.

Nathan, with his "I'm too sexy pose."
Then, at nights, we were able to stay up later than normal because we would convince Grandma to read to us.
Mom said that part of the reason for the trip was to help Grandpa celebrate his 60th birthday. We can't imagine what it is like to be 60 months old, let alone 60 years old!
There were a lot of candles on Grandpa's cake.
There was a lot of smoke when Grandpa blew out the candles. We thought the smoke detector might even go off.

It was good cake too. We don't really understand the picture on the cake, but Grandma said something about Grandpa only being half way up some hill.
We also got to visit Great Grandma for her birthday! Mommy said we couldn't mention how old Great Grandma is because it isn't polite to mention a ladies age.
Finally, we were able to meet our cousin Cooper.

So as you can see, our trip had lots going on. We look forward to going back. Hope you enjoyed our pictures.
