Community Fall Festival

This Sunday our community had its fall festival. Interestingly, it was the first year we bothered going. I guess something about having a couple of two year olds spur your interest in this kind of stuff a little more. Anyways, below are some pictures.

The boys got to ride in the jeep on the way to the festival while sporting some cool shades.

Once we got there, we scouted things out and this was the first ride the boys got to go on.

As you can see, it was a good thing mommy went along, because they were a bit intimidated by the ride. They were great little troopers though.

After they conquered the first ride, we let them choose the second ride. They decided on the giant 30 foot tall slides. Nathan needed some help getting up, but Christopher actually made it all the way to the top of this thing on this own. They giggled the whole way down and as soon as they reached the bottom, they bounced up and yelled "more! more!" and run back in line to do it all again. I think the boys provided the surrounding crowds some entertainment too as they "ooed and ahhhed" as the boys came sliding down.

After the basic slide, it was time for the themed slides. As you can see, Christopher led the way.

Will went up with the boys on each of these slides, so needless to say, he got quite a workout helping the boys up the slides over, and over, and over, and over...you get the point.

After the slides we decided on something tamer, so we went to the petting zoo.

After the petting zoo, we loaded up on a hayride.

After the horse ride, the boys got to ride a pony. How does that song go? "Mamma don't let your sons grow up to be cowboys..."

After a full afternoon at the festival, it was time for dinner. In lieu of going home to cook, we decided to take the boys out where they did remarkably well, considering how late it was and the fact they were starving.

As you can probably see from the pictures, we all had a great time and the boys did great. We were very impressed by the fall festival our community put on and really appreciate the hard work everyone put in to the event.
