The Clay County Fair was this week and blessed with really nice weather, we made the 25 minute drive to enjoy the fun. The boys went last year and the visit was cut short by rain, but we knew that they would have fun. This year was a lot more crowded though since the weather was so much nicer. It was still a good time though.
The boys were ready to go immediately to the rides, but we made them be patient and we walked through some of the exhibits to see the cows, pigs, chicken, etc.
They even got to try their hands at milking a cow!
They enjoyed the opportunity to sit on a tractor.
Nathan opted for something smaller.
Once we were done with the exhibits, we headed to the rides.
First up was a fun house maze. The boys got a kick out of seeing themselves in different mirrors.
They didn't seem as excited about riding in circles on a pretend motorcycle though.
Another highlight of the day was going down this giant slide. Unfortunately, it was a popular ride with waits taking about 20 minutes or so at a time so we only did this once, but at least we got it on video.

This was probably the boys' favorite ride. It was a pirate themed obstacle course. They went through this thing about 5 times. The best though was we told them to watch out for each other so you see them holding hands as they go through the obstacle course.

This next ride was probably the most miserable for the adults. It was in the shape of an apple with a wheel in the middle that allowed you to spin the apple, while the apple itself rotated in a circle. We were green while walking out while the boys were full of laughs. Needless to say, this was one and done. It didn't help that the ride did not have any air circulating through it and was a bit stuffy.
After the fast paced rides, the slow bulldozer ride was almost anticlimatic for the boys. They did not ask to go on this thing a second time.
Back to the pirate obstacle course.
After the rides, we had the boys go with us to see some of the flowers and plants. They were good sports about it.
The entire outing was a good time. We learned some lessons to apply for next year though. We look forward to the festival next year.

Who wrote this one? Sounds different. Anywho... could you have just not spun the apple as much?
Same author as the others. Maybe I was still dizzy from the fair when I wrote it.
