Back from Kansas

This weekend we took the boys to Kansas to surprise their Grandmother and to help her celebrate her *0th Birthday. We arrived Friday night and met up with Uncles Brian and Aunt Amber at the Atlanta airport during our connection to Wichita. Once in Wichita, we met up with the Great Uncle Jim, who brought Great Grandma Lucille and Great Aunt Mary and Great Uncle Gary who drove down from Iowa to participate in the surprise party.
Below is a picture of her expression when Grandma Jeannie showed up at home. Friday night was a relatively low key night when we had dinner at home and wine and everyone sat around and chatted for hours.

Of course, Friday night wasn't the only surprise. On Saturday, Grandpa planned another suprise party with more friends and family. Here is a picture of her expression when she walks into a house full of people.

Grandma Jeannie never knew about either party, so it was a success!
Although the boys had to miss out on both parties since it was past their bedtime, they did get to hang out with more family and got to meet their Great Aunt Mary and Great Uncle Gary for the first time.
Here is a picture of Gary with Nathan:

The boys were much more active on this trip back than when we went for Thanksgiving so the cats got to enjoy the boys more too. Here is a picture of Maggie:

Since the boys were more active, the plane rides were also a little bit more of a challenge, but overall, the boys were very well behaved and it was a great trip back to Kansas.
