A few days before their birthday party, we told the boys about the plans.
It seemed well received by them.
The day of the party, the boys started off taking it all in pretty well. Especially once we started feeding them.

Let's just say, Christopher was less than pleased. 
Nathan ended up handling it pretty well and after some encouragement,
dug into the cake a little.

We expected the boys to dig in to the cakes, but it wasn't exactly the response we got.

They even got more Gator gear, which they wore with pride.
On their actual birthday, Robin made them some cupcakes to see if there would be a different response without as many people.

Fortunately, once they were in our arms, they did get to enjoy some cake.

Hey guys, Congrats on the birthdays! Isn't it amazing how fast the time goes by.
Sorry we couldn't make it to the birthday party. When Mike fell and broke his knee 6 weeks ago, things got a little nuts around here. Then school started and we are just getting our feet back on the ground.
Discipline is never an easy issue. We haven't started time outs yet for Zoe cause we still don't think they truely understand what a time out is at this age. She gets in trouble, but we do other forms of correction (redirrection, activity change, hand holds, etc) and don't introduce time outs till they can actually use the words to tell us why they ended up in time out and/or appologize. I know all parents do it differently though. Sometimes though I still laugh at her tempers... then tickle her and forget the whole thing.... when there isn't attention paid to the misgiving, they tend to stop trying it. Zoe was a biter... she only bit mom though and she would immediately be told no, put down, and ignored for a while. When it got her the oppisite of what she wanted (attention), she stopped trying it(eventually). Now if only it would work for keeping her off the top of the kitchen table!
