I hearby award father of the year to William Li. He battled the frustrations of assembling two Little Tykes Cozy Coupes over the last two days. I have to admit, I was a little nervous when he pulled out 6 or 7 bags of little bitty pieces including washers, plastic gizmos, and tons of screws. He was able to multi task by watching a fairly silly movie and run the drill at the same time but a little after midnight last night, the first coupe was road ready. This morning he went back to into the room to do it again. (As you can all guess...this is part of having twins...Peat and Repeat haha) It was so cool to see the boys eyes light up when he brought them into the living room this morning after breakfast. They immediately starting pushing them around and checking them out. We put the tennis shoes on and started the races on the driveway. They both just giggled and absolutely loved them. It was a little difficult to pry Christopher out of his new car when it was time to go inside, so it was pretty obvious he was thrilled with this new car. I think Nathan was just ready for his nap so he didn't give us much of a fight. We are going to wait to put stickers on them until they are old enough to pick them out and "decorate" their own cars as they choose. That should be interesting. I warned Will that there are going to be many many repeat adventures of assembling different gadgets over the next few years. I think based on the success of this recent adventure, he is ready for the upcoming challenges.
The boys have continued to really improve in their RUNNING skills. We are way past the walking stage and it is a blast. It is amazing to see how much more independent they become each week. We can even get ready for work while they play in the bathroom together. That was completely impossible just a few months ago. We have decided on November 9th to put the bottles away and use only sippy cups. This will probably be a little harder on Will and I vs the kids since in a way signifies the end of the infant stage. I do not think we will be as sad when we end the diaper stage. For any of you who have younger children, look out.....these diapers get nasty. I thought we were just lucky when they were smaller since they really didn't gag us out. Wrong answer....we just needed to add more food. :-)
The boys are really playing well together...well most of the time. They love to play peek a boo with doors and race each other out of the room since whoever is first can lock the other in the bedroom with the gate. We have had a few bruises from this gate but in general, the battle scars have been limited. Christopher decided he was mad at Nathan for some reason the other day, found the plastic bat, and whacked Nathan across the head. As you can all guess, this earned him a nice timeout. Timeout seems to be much more effective for Christopher since he goes completely crazy when he has to stop doing what he wants to do. Nathan seems to be a little more comfortable just hanging out and taking a break. It is going to be very interesting when they get a little older and we see what is effective for discipline.
Halloween is next week so we are very excited to try out the costumes. They really are still too young to trick or treat so we thought we would just dress them up and take them to Blackstone Grille to see their grandparents and call it good. Next year will be a much different story.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupes was one of the toys that my girls loved to play with it for years. We bought it when Stephanie was about a year old and finally gave that away when Patricia was out grew it. With all these years of use, it was still in a good condition when I donated it to Salvation Army. She was very sad to see it go.
