The Kansas grandparents arrived in town on December 22nd and left today, so the boys got to spend a week with them. Lots of people from Will's side of the family was also in town, including his aunts and their families from San Francisco and Arkansas, so there were lots of visitors and activities over Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, the boys enjoyed a "white" Christmas...no it didn't snow in Jacksonville. In fact, the temp was in the low 70's, so the boys got to go to the beach. They really enjoyed it and appear to be past the sand eating phase. The water was still too cold though so although the boys seemed very interested in the water, we didn't let them in.
The night of Christmas Eve, we had the people that were already in town over for a "traditional" dinner of turkey and sides. It was a challenge since the boys wanted to hang out in the kitchen with Robin, and were probably a little overwhelmed with all the extra people in the house. Fortunately, after a good night's rest, the boys were back in great spirits for Christmas. The boys had so many presents that we divided opening their presents over two days. Below are pictures from Christmas day.
As you can see, Christopher was very happy with his presents.
For Christmas dinner, we all went to Blackstone Grille where their Nai Nai prepared a less traditional Christmas dinner. Except for the ham we brought over, it was mostly traditional Chinese dishes instead. In case you are wondering, no duck wasn't served and there were no waiters singing jingle bells. If you don't know what we are referring to, you need to rent "A Christmas Story."
The boys had a great time that evening and we found out one of their favorite toys in the restaurant is the window cleaner. Below are pictures of the boys playing with it.

The night of Christmas, was the latest we have voluntarily let the boys stay awake. They didn't get to bed until about 9:00 pm, so the next day they slept in. However, once they woke up, they got started on round 2 of opening presents.
One of their favorite presents was an Adventure Tent pictured below. It also has a tunnel, but they haven't quite figured that part out yet, so we didn't keep it attached.

Against the objection of Will, the tunnel has now taken a somewhat permanent place in the living room. At one point, the boys' toys were confined to the bonus room. Now, we are at a loss to find a room where there isn't evidence of the boys' toys.Well, we hope everyone had as great of a Christmas as we did and we wish you all a Happy New Year!
