Day at the Beach!

It's been a long cold winter, and today was finally a combination of what we have been waiting for, warm weather and time to go to the beach. This wasn't the boys first trip to the beach, but it was the first trip this season and we were looking forward to how the boys would with the surf and the sand. It exceeded our expectations and was great fun. Below are some pictures.

Here the boys are all loaded and ready to go.

Once we arrived at the beach, we forgot that the combination of Easter weekend, spring break and warm weather would mean big crowds. Fortunately, we didn't get there until the afternoon and the crowd started to thin down. Once we found a place to park the stroller, we took the boys down to check out the surf. The pictures below pretty well sum up their reaction to the experience.

We tried to take the boys away from the surf to play in the sand, but they would just run back down towards the water.

The boys were fearless and just loved it when the surf would run over their feet. The weather was warm, but the water was still a bit cold. It didn't stop the boys though from wanting to run back into the water though.

After some coaxing, we finally redirected the boys' attention to the sand and they started playing with their shovel and pail. Of course, Nathan tried to use his shovel like a spoon at first.

He quickly learned that sand doesn't taste very good, while Christopher looks on as if to say, "Bro, use it to shovel the sand!".

Once Nathan figured it out, he started to enjoy it more.

Despite the fun they had in the sand, they still couldn't resist the surf though.

So back and forth we went, between the surf and the sand.

At the end, we got them to start collecting sea shells together.

It was all a lot of fun, and we are all looking forward to do it again.
